Join Teen Staff
Are you a teen living in metro Atlanta who wants your voice heard? If so, join VOX Teen Communications, the non-profit publisher of VOX Teen Newspaper — the South's only citywide newspaper by and for teens!
Why Join VOX?
VOX is a great place to grow personally and professionally. Teenagers (ages 13-19) brainstorm the cover package and story ideas for each issue of VOX. We write, create art and design the pages of each issue.
At VOX you can learn about journalism, graphic arts, photography, Web content and design.
You can also meet people in many professions, work with caring adult staff and volunteers to develop stories, and participate in and help lead community-wide workshops.
As VOX teen staff members, you can also participate in our other programs and projects, like Graduation Countdown, peer writing groups, VOX Open Mic, Movie Nights and more.
To join the VOX teen staff, here's what you do: Read about the different application options and choose the one that's right for you. Send in your application and we'll follow up with you about next steps. That's it!
Apply for VOX Teen Staff: If you are interested in becoming an active volunteer with VOX, you can join the teen staff. Applicants attend a New Member Training, which gives an introduction to the VOX publication process. Once you train, you can write and create art for the paper on a regular basis and drop in to participate in all program activities.
The next New Member Training is Saturday, October 2 and Saturday, October 9, 2010. We are accepting applications for our October New Member Training on a rolling basis. Click here for an application for VOX teen staff.
Apply for the VOX Epiphany Girls Group:
Epiphany runs January - March. Check back for the application in October.
Writing for VOX: If you'd like to write for VOX without joining the teen staff, just follow this writing guide.
